Our Company

Specialist Plant South West Ltd was formed in 2017 when we were approached by excavator manufacturer Mecalac to become a dealer for the product range. After experiencing how the Mecalac range could revolutionise our way of working it was great to be able to offer these solutions to other forward-thinking businesses.

We are passionate about the products that we offer and aim to provide exceptional service to our customers throughout their purchase and any aftermarket support that is required.

We genuinely believe in the products that we sell. Our contracting business consists of Mecalac excavators (both wheeled and tracked) with a wide range of attachments due to the superior versatility and performance that they provide us and our customers. We offer services for many different segments such as Construction, Agriculture and Forestry.

Who are we?

Graham Sandercock

Growing up in Lanjeth, Cornwall Graham always had a keen interest in Agricultural and Plant machinery which was established whilst growing up on the family farm and from his Uncle’s plant operating business. Starting out driving excavators for his father’s building company the work soon increased and became much more varied.

As the workload increased Graham invested in his first new machine in 2007 to enhance his contracting business and diversify into other areas such as Forestry. Always looking to provide the best solution for his customers Graham purchased his first Mecalac MCR excavator in 2014, this was the first machine of its type in the UK.

The Mecalac MCR left a huge impression on Graham and anyone who saw it working. His passion and enthusiasm for these machines and his relationship with Mecalac are what led him to setup Specialist Plant in 2017.
